Simple Wedding Catering Satisfies

As you plan your wedding, you are probably worried about what you are going to serve your guests for dinner. Wedding blogs and magazines are following the fad to suggest that you have a lot of choices for your guests. A big table full of appetizers would be very complex and could satisfy every particular craving. But sometimes, simple really is better. Consider this menu for your guests.

Three Simple Meat Choices

Pulled-pork sandwiches are a simple, inexpensive choice for wedding dinners. Have the caterer prepare two types of pulled-pork. One will be milk, with only minimal seasoning on it. The second type of pork should be seasoned with barbecue sauce. Also have a bowl of barbecue sauce on your buffet table for your guests.  That way each guest can decide how much barbecue flavor they want on their sandwich.

The rolls for the sandwich should be precut so your guests can quickly spoon the meat on to them. Work with the caterer planning the size the roll. You don't want anything bigger than your fist. A smaller roll will be easier for you and your guests to handle. Just plan on each guest having two or three sandwiches.

Your third meat choice should be a simple baked chicken breast seasoned minimally. Chicken is inexpensive, easy to cook, and liked by most guests. It will satisfy those that are not interested in the pulled-pork sandwich.

Three Simple Sides

Next plan for three simple side dishes. Mashed potatoes, green beans, and corn are great choices. They are different colors, which is pleasing visually to your guest. They also have different tastes and textures.

Depending on your budget, you can have the side dishes as simple or spruced up as you would like. Garlic cheese mashed potatoes may be more decadent than simple mashed potatoes. Green beans can be accentuated with almonds and bacon or turned into a casserole.

These three dishes are all very filling. They are also generally enjoyed by guests of all ages. Your caterer can use canned, frozen or instant varieties if the fresh versions are not in season at the time of your wedding.

You may be surprised at how many of your guests come up and thank you for the excellent meal at your reception. The simple meal made it easy for them to see what was available and choose what they were going to eat that night. They did not have to worry about a huge buffet full of unknown appetizers. Sometimes comfort food really is the best way to go. Talk to a caterer like Barbagallo's to see what your options are.
